Moorish culinary traditions can still be tasted in the characteristic soups, meet and sweets. The most well known dishes are gazpacho (a cold soup), fried fish and sweets made with honey, almond and pine nuts. With the sea so close, there is of course a great deal of very fresh fish on the menu. Fishermen deliver daily to local gourmet restaurants. In the immediate vicinity there are also various restaurants serving not only fish but also paella and of course, tapas. Many European people are already familiar with the Spanish cuisine, but the way it is done in Andalusia is of another calibre altogether. For good reason, Spanish cuisine is gaining in popularity.
